Register for reception

If you have not received a reception place after registering with the Immigration Office, you can register on a waiting list. In the meantime, you are entitled to medical care and legal aid.

After registering your application for international protection (asylum) with the Immigration Office, Fedasil normally checks whether you can get reception.

Due to a lack of reception places, Fedasil may not be able to  examine your request for reception until later. Children, women and vulnerable people are given priority.

Register on the waiting list
In the meantime, you can register on a waiting list for reception.

After examining your request for reception, Fedasil will contact you by e-mail when there is a reception place available for you.

Payment of medical costs
You are also entitled to medical assistance from a doctor.

A few days before your visit to a doctor, hospital or pharmacist, you (or the doctor) should submit a request to Fedasil using the form for medical costs

Legal aid/lawyer
You may seek legal aid from an organization or a lawyer. For those with limited income, assistance from a lawyer is free.

Contact a Legal Aid Office (BJB/BAJ) in your region. They will assign you a pro bono lawyer.
