Help from an interpreter

Asylum seekers can ask help from an interpreter. They will translate the information into a language that the asylum seeker understands.

The interpreter translates

If you do not understand French or Dutch, you can ask for the help of an interpreter: someone who speaks your language or a language you understand.

Your social worker will look for an interpreter. The interpreter either comes to your reception location or translates via telephone or internet. You do not have to pay for the interpreter. If your social worker cannot find an interpreter for you, they can ask for help from another resident or staff member.
