You want your identity documents back for another reason

How can you request your identity documents?

Send an e-mail to cid.teruggavedocumenten@ibz.fgov.be in Dutch, French, German or English. Is your request urgent? Please indicate this.

Your documents may be with the CALL (CCE/RvV). In this case, the Immigration Office will inform you, and you will need to contact the CALL directly.

What should I mention in my request?

Indicate the reasons why you want your documents back. Also include the necessary supporting documents.

If the Immigration Office considers that your reasons are insufficient, your documents will not be returned and will remain in the custody of the Immigration Office or the CGRS.

When can I collect the documents?

You will receive an e-mail invitation to collect your documents. This may take several days. The invitation states where and when you need to go.

Who can collect the documents?

You must collect your documents in person and sign an acknowledgement of receipt. You can however collect the documents of your underage children.

Are you unable to come in person? You can send someone else. This person must have authorisation. This is a written document in which you give this person permission to collect your documents. This document must also state why you cannot come and collect the documents yourself. Also include the necessary supporting documents.

Are you an unaccompanied minor? You and your guardian, or your guardian alone, can collect your documents.
